2500bc-14/1300bc A barrow comprising a central dome of hard puddled chalk with flints with a surrounding circular bank of similar material, both of these being then covered by a mound of clean loose chalk. Over this was set a thin outer crust of trodden or puddled chalk. The central chalk dome covered no deposit, but the barrow covered 6 inhumation burials, 4 urned cremations and three unurned cremations.

Grave 1 contained a skeleton of an adult male c30-35, on its right side, very contracted, arms folded between the legs, facing SW. Large flints were placed around and above the burial which was unaccompanied apart from a Beaker sherd in the left eye socket.

Grave 2 contained a child skeleton on its left side, facing NW, crouched and unaccompanied.

Grave 3 contained a small child's skeleton, probably crouched, unaccompanied.

Grave 4 contained the skeleton of a female child c7-8, crouched on its left side, face to S, unaccompanied. It had been dug from the upper surface of the barrow and was above the natural chalk.

Grave 5 contained the skeleton of a very young child c2-3, on its right side, crouched, facing SW, associated with a small sherd of a Beaker type vessel. It had been dug from the upper surface of the barrow.

Grave 6 contained a small skeleton on its left side, facing W, crouched, and unaccompanied. This had been dug from the upper surface of the barrow.

The adult in grave 1 and the child in grave 4 had an unusual edge-to-edge bite suggesting they may have been related.

There were 4 urned cremations. All were Middle Bronze Age collared urns, inverted, in small pits, and containing cremated human remains. Three unurned cremations were found in small pits below the turf, two actually joining.
