100bc-AD43 A rift deposit containing crouched skeleton of an adult male, associated with sherds of Middle and Late Bronze Age pottery, but believed by the excavators to post-date these, on the broad assumption that cremation was the sole rite of those times. The report says 'among the bones were a few small sherds of pottery' and these could have been token deposits with a Bronze Age inhumation. On the other hand, the skull features and general bone conditions were similar to those of Wookey Hole remains, and the deposit could therefore be taken as Late Iron Age.
