3500bc - 2500bc | A grave containing the inhumation in a crouched or sitting posture of an adult female past middle age, head facing the estuary (W). It was one of 8-9 similar inhumations reported to have been found at or near the spot. There were no accompanying grave goods. The dating is based on the physical characteristics of the skeletal remains, which evidenced the mingling of dolichocephalic and brachycephalic types. |
