2500bc-14/1300bc | A round barrow with a kerb and total flint capping containing a 4.5m diameter cairn narrowly defined by a substantial and well built flint wall. From the edge of the central cairn came a food vessel with wide everted rim and small lugs round the shoulder. The cairn was set over a pit 2.4m x 1.5m x 1.1m deep into the natural gravel. In one corner was a probable Beaker associated with a jet button and toggle, and a small flint knife. The pit showed no signs of a burial. |
