2500bc-14/1300bc | A bowl barrow with near the centre an area 1.3m square enclosed by stones 1m high and roofed with flat stones, possibly set on the old land surface rather than sunk into the ground. The primary burial was a cremation accompanied by a dagger, a number of perforated (probably) amber beads, a ball of baked clay about the size of a small cannon ball, and a 'vase or cup curiously wrought'. Near the chamber were the remains of an unburnt burial but no dating evidence. |
