2500bc-14/1300bc | A pond barrow with just within the bank a sub-rectangular enclosure containing three pits. These had been left open a while, and then a few chips of burnt bone inserted in two of them, and covered with dark brown loam like the surrounding topsoil. The third pit was at the barrow centre, and consisted of an upper pit in the floor of which a smaller pit had been dug containing a small quantity of cremated bone. |
