2500bc-14/1300bc | Round barrow covering a megalithic chamber with a stone facade, oriented E. The tomb was completely closed. Main chamber was paved to double thickness, and below this paving was found a whetstone like that of Tregaseal (Site 6) and typical of Early Bronze Age graves with metal daggers. There were fragments of corded ware pottery in the chamber. In the eastern half of the main chamber was cremated human skeletal material, flints and sherds of 2 small pots (Wessex II?) in a little hollow in the floor (all found in 1910). |
