2500bc-14/1300bc A bowl barrow with a central primary crouched inhumation of an old male of large stature, oriented NNE, laid on its back, and set in a pit of c2.5-3m diameter x 3m deep. Over the body lumps of chalk had been carefully packed, followed by a layer of earth containing pieces of burnt wood c0.6m thick, then a thin clay coating. Among the chalk were found two pieces of stag horn, two sherds and a piece of shale.

Two secondary inhumations, both oriented NNE and off centre, were above the first deposit. One was of a crouched male of large stature enclosed in a square stone cist of double flags at the north and south but with open sides. Other stones provided support for the flagstone covering the head. There was some displacement of the lumbar vertebrae, believed to have occurred before interment. The other was similarly disposed in a similar cist.

There was a further intrusive inhumation near the top of the mound at the centre.
