2500bc-14/1300bc | A square stone cist opened in 1865 contained 2 thin gold lunulae of Irish origin incised with lines, the smaller one very elaborately, a flat bronze axe and 'other things'. The bronzework was dated to Pearce's Harlyn phase (2300-2000BC). A layer of ashes which may have been connected with a cremation burial and charcoal was visible beneath the adjoining field. |
