2500bc-14/1300bc A disc barrow constructed on the old land surface, with a central burial cairn of quartz stones. 'On a low cairn of stones...and wedged up by some of its upper stones was found a deposit of calcined bones...intimately combined with a mass of peaty roots...under it on either side a utility stone or hone of granite...' (C K Croft Andrew quoted by Christie 1988). The cairn and burial were covered by the turf of the barrow mound. The cremation was of one possibly male adult c25-35. There was some animal bone, including pig, found in fragments, 6 of which were burnt. Entrance to the enclosure was through a gap in the bank at the east.. There was a 'heavily trodden area' around the cairn. There was an unusual clay mound overlying a shallow portion of the ditch, with flints and evidence of fires on its surface, opposite the gap in the bank. This was the possible sealing off of the burial barrow.
