2500bc-14/1300bc | A slate cairn covering near the centre two parcels of calcined and comminuted bone deposited in crannies in the bedrock. A ring of white quartz boulders defined the edge of the cairn. Two further deposits of bone on the east side. Up to five persons were represented by the remains. Burial 1 was of a cremated possibly female young adult. Burials 2 and 2a were of an adult and a female c17-25, and a bronze awl. Burial 3 was in a pit containing the cremated bones of an adult. Burial 4 was another cremated adult in a rock cut pit. Not all bones were represented in the deposits, and therefore not all the cremated human skeletal material was deposited given the quantities. |
