2500bc-14/1300bc | A barrow containing the primary cremation of an adult probably well past middle age with charcoal and ashes in a pit roofed by two slabs, and covered by a small cairn, in or very near the centre of the barrow. Just east of the cairn was a small mound of burnt clay 0.3m high and 0.9m in diameter. All was covered and surrounded by a mound of turves which had overspread a drystone retaining wall. The mound was capped by subsoil material. |
