2500bc-14/1300bc A soil round barrow with stone rubble centre over large unworked stones laid close together. The barrow contained a large number of deposits. A cremation A was found in a bowl shaped depression lined with small stones and covered with a square unworked slab, a typical cremation receptacle for the barrow. Interment B appears to have been a mixture of burnt and unburnt bone of an adult male of middle age, not complete, and similarly deposited. Was B a mixture of the primary inhumation? A rude drystone wall surrounded an inverted cinerary urn placed on stones and covered by 3 stones, the cist being 0.75m in diameter.

There were 25 other deposits of cremated matter with and without pottery accompaniment: D cremation and bit of pottery, E parts of urn with burnt bones and burnt material, F burnt bones and three potsherds, G urn containing burnt bones, H pottery and burnt bones, I L N S burnt bones, K M T potsherds with burnt matter adhering, O inverted urn with burnt bones, P1-4 burnt material and small quantities of burnt bones laid in depressions, Q R parts of two urns, burnt matter adhering, U urn packed round with stones, with burnt bones, V saucer like a flower pot stand containing burnt bones piled above the top edge, W1-4 four bowl shaped depressions covered by blocks, containing burnt bones.

The urns were of the black coarse ware type, with finger tip decoration. Some 70 flints were scattered throughout the mound.
14/1300bc-8/700bc Possible overlap site with 2500-14/1300.
