2500bc-14/1300bc A turf mounded oval barrow, oriented N, with a cylindrical pit 0.4m wide x 0.5m deep near the centre, dug into the original soil surface. The pit sides were lined with bright yellow clay on which was put a layer of grey-blue clay. At the bottom was a conical pile of fine dark earth, not greasy, and this was covered with blue clay. Mixed stony soil filled the pit to a dome at the top. A clay dome capped this, with an encircling hollow c0.9m in diameter. Adjacent to the pit was a shallow elongated hollow 1.8m long, oriented NW.

A ring of stake holes of irregular spacing and size surrounded the central area, broken by an entrance on the north west side 2.5m wide. There were some stake holes within the circle, especially on the east and south. These holes had contained stakes removed before the barrow mound was built, as there was a hard iron pan overlying them. They held no human skeletal material.
