2500bc-14/1300bc A levelled round barrow with a deep narrow ditch and a turf core mound covered by a chalk envelope. The initial phase of construction appears to have been a stake circle of 11.4m diameter with two apparent gaps in the south east quadrant and a central trapezoidal mortuary house. This consisted of 5 stake holes on each of two long sides oriented EW, and probably with sloping sides joined at the top. This was later burnt down, and a shallow grave cut through the charcoal on the old land surface in the centre of which had been the house. In this grave a small amount of cremated bone was deposited. The cremation contained between 5 and 8 individuals' remains including one neonate, 1 child c4-5 months, 1 possible adolescent and up to 5 adults. The turf mound was built over the decayed stake holes, and in the mound was found a Beaker/Early Bronze Age sherd.

On the pre-barrow surface near the mortuary house there was a Beaker sherd and some small Early Bronze Age sherds, and a Beaker rim sherd in the north west quadrant. Animal bones of cattle, sheep or goat, and pig, and intrusive deposits of badger and fox were in the mound and on the old ground surface.
