2500bc-14/1300bc | A disc barrow previously excavated by Cunnington and Hoare. The central grave on re-excavation was empty and surrounded by an irregular stake ring, inside which were other stake structures. Hoare found in this and another disc barrow in this group (i) an interment and a 'broken dart of brass', and (ii) burnt bones, a few small amber rings and beads, jet beads, and a point of a 'brass dart'. The inner stake holes were mainly to the south east of the burial. |
