100bc-AD43 | A rectangular grave pit within the hillfort enclosure, containing a semi-crouched inhumation on its left side, head to N, and without grave goods. There was a sherd possibly of the Iron Age, but not strictly identifiable as such. In three of the corners of the pit there appeared to be the remains of post holes. The characteristics of the burial suggest a later pre-Roman Iron Age date. |
