2500bc-14/1300bc | A disc barrow whose central mound was surrounded by a 3m wide band of flint nodules set slightly into the old land surface. Two pits were enclosed by the flint circle. Pit 1 was just off the centre and had contained the cremation of an adolescent. Pit 2 to the west was cut through the mound and was secondary. It consisted of the packed fragments of a child cremation in the base of a collared urn. The barrow would have required much labour to construct. |
