2500bc-14/1300bc | A bell barrow with an inhumation oriented NE laid in a shallow oblong pit. By the head was a 5-handled Breton type jar. Accompanying the burial was a bronze dagger in an incised gold inlaid wooden sheath, a bronze awl with bone handle, and a second bronze dagger. Several feet above the burial in the body of the mound was a mass of fossil wood like a bunch of twigs, possibly a funeral wreath or garland. |
