2500bc-14/1300bc A twin bell barrow. The eastern barrow mound comprised chalk capping over earth, and at 0.9m a flint layer 0.3m thick. This rested on another earth layer in which was a cremation burial in an enlarged food vessel comprising a young female imperfectly cremated. Mixed with the bones were a flat dagger, a bronze awl, a gold mounted amber disc, faience beads, amber beads and space plates, an amber stud, beads probably of shale, and (?)calcite beads. Some had been in the fire. It is uncertain whether the cremation was primary or secondary (it was excavated by Stukeley, quoted by Hoare).

The western barrow covered a small pit cut into the floor to the south of the barrow centre containing a cremation with 4 horn beads and 2 unperforated horn beads of flat circular shape showing signs of burning. Below the barrow surface was an undatable inhumation of a male, oriented NS. It is uncertain whether the cremation was primary or secondary as the section was limited. The barrow floor was covered with ash (from the pyre, possibly).
