2500bc-14/1300bc A post circle (?) of 3.3m diameter with the skull of a (?)female deliberately deposited in the post hole (P1) in the south west quadrant. The skull had been exposed previously and not placed when fleshed. There were some flint nodules above and below the skull, and one flint nodule below was naturally shaped as a human figurine. Two pottery fragments were found, one in P1 and one in P2, probably but not certainly 'prehistoric'. The post circle (each hole empty of its post) may have been a mortuary hut or enclosure. P2 also contained a fossil echinoid.
