Description POSI | PU21 - 30, 33 = one continous rock pile. There are no PU01, 07, 12.Forty-one rock piles have been recorded in the SIA and give PU numbers for collection purposes. They vary in size considerably from large piles several of which are over 7 m in length to much smaller piles of only 1.5 m in diameter. The rock piles most likely represent field clearence. Many of the stones in the area of high pottery density are believed to have been from structured remains of Roman times as the evidence of tile suggests. |
