1.7 Human Bone

The majority of skeletal remains were very fragmentary and could not survive being moved and so were reburied immediately. Some samples of human bone were retained, especially from the cemetery at 335 Chaparli. These were stored at the IoAE museum in Baku and were examined by Kate Brayne in 2007. She looked at material from sites 272 Borsunlu, 332 Shamkirchai, 333 Shamkirchai 3, 335 Chaparli, 378 Tovuzchai, 408.8 Poylu II, 432 Soyugbulag and 438 Boyuk Kasik, and her report is contained in the archive (Brayne 2007).
