Soyugbulag

Evidence: Eneolithic | Bronze Age | Iron Age | Antique | Albanian | Medieval | Post-Medieval

At first, this site was believed to be of Bronze Age date so the discovery of Eneolithic material, including a copper knife, later confirmed by radiocarbon dating, was a surprise. The site had not been recorded during construction of the BTC pipeline, but only seen in the late stage of the SCP pipeline, and in view of its importance the decision was taken to excavate additional kurgan burials outside the easement of the pipeline. Further work has been carried out in the following years by Bertille Lyonnet and others (Lyonnet et al 2009)
