Description: the god has assumed the guise of a chubby Graeco-Roman Cupid with wings and a heavy garland of fruit and leaves crowning his curly head. The left hand is empty, but the right hand is raised to the chin in Harpocrates' characteristic attitude of one enjoining Isia initiates not to divulge the secrets of the mysteries. A gold chain, with a gold ring attached to it, is knotted round the body; and on the shallow pedestal, on which the infant stands, a dog, a tortoise, and a bird are grouped around his feet (Toynbee).
