Description: Silver with gilt wings, tail and comb. Its head is turned to the right (presumably facing a figure of Mercury). This is a very finely detailed work of art, as can be seen for example in the neatly delineated breast-feathers. (Henig and Paddock). The breast feathers are lunate stamps, tail feathers hatched, wings a mixture of both. Expressive face. Presumably was with a well-modelled Mercury figure. Wings and tail feathers slightly raised as if making a display or about to take flight.
