Description | Figure stands on a hemispherical base. Wears a long gown with overfold, collar around neck. Feet bare. Holds flute with both hands in front of body. Lots of attention to detail but rather crudely executed. Top heavy with very small feet, narrow waist and very broad shoulders. Large hands. Fingers and toes depicted. Folds of gown fairly crude in deep but not thick folds. Body too short for head and shoulders. Lots of details of face and hair with small mouth and long nose. Hair frames face and is tied in a bun at the nape of the neck. (also see Toynbee) |
