Description | Original not seen, only replica in Bristol City Museum (BRSMG F4261). Helmet with huge feathered crest. The right hand holds a spear, while in his left hand is possibly the pommel of a sword (Toynbee p66). Slender figure, musculature of torso depicted. Curly hair frames face. Fingers quite heavily grooved, toes less so. Fine nose, small mouth, eyes quite large, slender face with pointed chin. Groove down back. |
