Individual Subscriptions: Terms and Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Internet Archaeology (IA) web site and the materials accessible on or from the site, including those Articles or Issues to which you have you subscribed. Please read them carefully and refer to them as necessary as you explore the journal. Your use of the IA site means that you accept these Terms and Conditions.

Individual Subscribers

An Individual Subscriber is a person who has paid the relevant IA subscription charge to enable them to access, for their personal use, those Articles or Issues of the journal to which they have subscribed. Subscribers will have permanent access to those Articles or Issues for which they have paid.

Availability

IA will use all reasonable endeavours to make the journal available to Subscribers at all times, save for routine maintenance, and to restore access to the journal as soon as possible in the event of an interruption or suspension of service.

IA will make all reasonable endeavours to provide continuing access for Subscribers to that part of the journal which was published and paid for either from the University of York server or from a digital archive.

The opinions stated in the articles of Internet Archaeology are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the management of 'Internet Archaeology'.

Links to external websites are provided throughout the journal but IA accepts no responsibility for the content of these websites.

IA may contain some advertising material from time to time, but does not endorse or accept any liability for any of the products or services so advertised, or for any error or inaccuracy in the advertisements.

Copyright

ALL materials contained in 'Internet Archaeology' are subject to copyright claims and other proprietary rights.

Except as otherwise noted, copyright in all contributions within each issue remains with the authors. Except as otherwise noted, copyright in all contributions elsewhere within the intarch.ac.uk domain remains with 'Internet Archaeology'. The moral rights of the authors to their work also remain with the authors. 'Internet Archaeology' holds non-exclusive rights in respect of electronic publication and dissemination.

Use of the Journal

'Internet Archaeology' is published by The Council for British Archaeology, 1996 -. All rights reserved, including those to reproduce this publication or parts thereof in any form without permission from 'Internet Archaeology'. We welcome fair use of all material published in the journal, including use of material for teaching, but it is not fair to pass off any material from 'Internet Archaeology' as your own work, or to copy whole or near-whole issues. If you want to republish material, please contact us. The Journal may not be posted or in anyway mirrored on the WWW or any other part of the Internet except at the official publication site at the University of York.

'Internet Archaeology' may make improvements and/or changes to the WWW pages at any time and shall not be responsible for any loss, cost, or damage, including consequential damage, caused by reliance on these materials.

Misuse

Access to the Articles or Issues subscribed to is available upon input of your username and password, which has been confirmed to you by e-mail by IA. Subscriptions are not transferable, and you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, and for activities which occur under that password. If IA has cause to suspect that misuse of your username and password is occurring, we will investigate and ask for explanation. If no reasonable or satisfactory explanation is forthcoming within ten days, we reserve the right to cancel your subscription forthwith and terminate your access to the subscribed Articles or Issues.

Cancellations and Refunds

Authorised payment and notification of access will be confirmed via email which we recommend you print out and keep. Free access to Issue 1 is provided in order to give a sample of the journal, for once payment has been authorised and access granted, we are unable to cancel subscriptions.

The subscription facility requires session-based cookies and to work fully, requires that you complete your transaction in one session (i.e. you may encounter problems if you partially register details and come back to them later the same day).
