100bc-AD43 | In Layer 3, the tertiary silting of the ring ditch, was inserted the cremation burial of a young adult or juvenile accompanied by part of a bos mandible and a bronze strip and hemispherical bronze fragment, possibly part of leatherwork fittings. Stratification on the site suggested this was of Late Iron Age date, and pre-Roman. The burial was covered by a thin layer of loam and a layer of gravel. |
