8/700bc-100bc An extensive roughly circular settlement enclosure with hut groups, accompanying pits and enclosures. The north eastern group of hut circles was very crowded together, and contained within in a small rectangular enclosure. Pit C in a group of three measured c1.5m across x 1.8m deep and contained the skeleton of an adult female c30-35 crouched on the right side c1.35m deep, at the side of the pit, head to the N, the pit being filled with occupation debris. The top 0.6m of the pit was composed of earth below which was a mixture of burnt bone, coarse black pottery, burnt earth, burnt bones, a stone spearhead and two 'crystal balls' possibly glass beads. This fill was above and below the skeleton, and below it was dark and greasy as if composed of organic material. Bones found 0.6m below the skeleton were of uncertain type. The pit also contained a 'singular round cake of clay'.
