3500bc - 2500bc | Long barrow oriented SSE/NNW. There were primary deposits of burnt and unburnt human skeletal material, nearly all in 0.3m of earth and stones immediately above the clay floor. At the axial centre was a pit 0.75m diameter filled with large stones. Just above and slightly to the north were 2 human molars, some tiny fragments of burnt bone and a piece of (?)humerus. There were two burnt areas, in one of which was a small cist enclosed by stone slabs which contained a few scraps of burnt bone. The mound had a subrectangular core of large stones edged by an irregular wall, capped by earth and stones. |
