100bc-AD43 A small enclosed settlement site occupied between 1st Century BC and the mid 1st Century AD containing 35 storage pits, one of which located outside the northern boundary of the enclosure contained an inhumation. This was of an adult male c45-55 lying crouched in a shallow oval pit, lying on the back, legs drawn up over the body to the chest and oriented NW. The right arm was thrown across the chest with hand on the left shoulder, left arm on the mid-riff, the left wrist having a Kimmeridge shale armlet. The head was twisted to the S. Large blocks of chalk and flint were packed round the body and head. [1st Century AD probably].
