8/700bc-100bc | A cist grave probably of limestone slabs c1.4m long and certainly with single covering stone which contained a probably crouched inhumation associated with which were 18 glass beads including 10 small yellow ring-beads, and 7 barrel-shaped beads of clear glass with a pale red surface and pale chrome yellow undercoat. These were comparable with those found at the Meare Lake Village West (Early Iron Age B). Other finds included a small chalcedony pebble and a number of small, bead-shaped limestone fossils. |
