8/700bc-100bc An isolated inhumation in a grave 1.6m long found 1.8m deep below the present surface, comprising an adult male of middle age lying on the back with the legs flexed and bent over to the left, oriented W. The right arm was flexed over the chest, the hand almost reaching the face. The left arm and hand were probably similarly positioned. Death may have been from an infected sword injury to the right tibia. Associated with the skeleton were fragments of 4 pottery vessels, two of which were squat ovoid coarse ware jars dated to c300 BC (Iron Age B).
