100bc-AD43 | A bronze plated bucket of fir wood with three iron bands, a cross-bar and two handles was found containing calcined human bones in 1807. It was plated with thin bronze and ornamented with repoussee human heads and animals. It is dated to the period 50BC-AD40, late La Tene. The Mead where it was found was used for gravel diggings and there were regular finds, particularly of Roman material, and clearly some were inhumation burials. |
