100bc-AD43 | An isolated pit burial comprising a crouched female adult c25 and an infant under 3 months was found in the upper filling of the ditch of an Iron Age settlement. The infant was accompanied by a tiny handmade vessel about the size of an egg cup. Pottery found on the settlement site is of Iron Age South-eastern Second B for the initial settlement phase, with fuller occupation using the almost silted ditch as the settlement perimeter evidenced by South-eastern Third B sherds. |
