100bc-AD43 | A more conical round barrow of flint and chalky rubble with 0.9m to the east of the centre a small circular pit cut in the chalk containing a considerable quantity of charcoal and charred bones. The parts of the cranium surviving indicated the cremation of an adult female c25. There was a small sandstone slab just above the pit. Two or three sherds of pottery were also found. [Date?]. |
