3500bc - 2500bc | A double ring ditch, with an oval central burial pit c1.8m x 1.5m, oriented SE, containing a tightly contracted inhumation of a female aged 25-35, oriented SE, facing south west and lying on her left side. A small body sherd of Abingdon style was in front of the head, and two flint flakes by the knees, one serrated as common in Middle Neolithic flint industries. A layer of gravel covered the skeleton, not all of which was present, both thumbs and the tali being missing. |
