8/700bc-100bc | A round barrow covering a primary cremation with parts of an Iron Age A carinated bowl and other sherds representing at least 5 more vessels, and a cheekpiece of bridle. The human bone was a small handful of well-burnt material. A flint scraper, knife, a bone implement with a notch, and part of a polished stone implement were also found. There were also bones of horse, pig, ox and sheep. The mound appeared to have been built on the site of a hearth c3m in diameter. |
