100bc-AD43 | An occupation area (perhaps part of a small homestead), with pottery evidence dating from c10 BC to AD43. In the excavation of a hollow area a frontal bone from an adult male was found in mixed soil overlying large flints. The bone exhibited several striking marks and wounds, one healed. There was evidence for exposure after death. Much animal bone was found and a Colchester brooch. |
