14/1300bc-8/700bc In 1873 trenching for a tree plantation found 97 (probably) Deverel-Rimbury urns close to a barrow, 2 being found in 1908 and 5 around 1923. 86 of the original group were deposited nearly in parallel lines on the slope of the mound south of the barrow within 20 square feet. Many were inverted, none were covered, and in some a few small fragments of bone were found.
