100bc-AD43 | A small group of c6 inhumations were found in quarrying. One was cAD50-80 by dating of a brooch, but the others described below could be earlier. An unlined grave contained the skeletons of 2 adult females, one oriented E the other W, the elderly female accompanied by 3 Class 1 bead-rim bowls by the body, and a native copy of a Gallo-Belgic butt beaker by the head. A cist inhumation contained a juvenile oriented EW accompanied by a bronze brooch (AD50-80), 6 horses' teeth (remains of a horse's head food offering?) and a bone object. There were 3 further inhumations, 2 in earth graves, and one with legs flexed. |
