2500bc-14/1300bc | A bowl barrow with on the south west side 4 extended skeletons, one below the other at 0.5m intervals. At the neck of one, a female, were spherical (?)amber beads, and 2 cylindrical beads with gold plates on their bases. At a depth of c2m was a large (?)collared urn containing a cremation and a quite plain (?)incense cup. [Warne and Grinsell suggest that the primary burial was not found, and that the inhumations post dated the mound, but by what timespan is unclear. Warne's description suggests simple successive burials.] |
