14/1300bc-8/700bc | A small Bronze Age cinerary urn containing a cremation was inverted in a pit in the gravel, and was of impressed cord lattice decoration on the rim. [1923] Further discoveries were made in 1925 suggesting that this was a cemetery site. One deposit was of a large Deverel type cinerary urn inverted in a pit c0.6m deep in which was charcoal, burnt flints and signs of burning. Pieces of another large vessel which was incomplete and had been deliberately broken were also inside the urn. A second urn was found nearby also containing a cremation. [1926] |
