3500bc - 2500bc | Long mound oriented E. Excavation in 1909 found 'human remains closely packed together in groups, generally between vertical stones, and sometimes overlaid with slabs of stone', 'all found in one part of the mound', close to the entrance stones. The bones represented several individuals of different ages and sex. There were also found a large number of flint chippings, and two leaf shaped arrow heads and a scraper. |
