2500bc-14/1300bc | A shallow rock cut pit was covered by a slab supported by stones, and in it was set a very large two-handled biconical pot buried in brown earth. The pot was set upright and covered by a slab. It contained burned bones of an adult, a Wessex II dagger with two rivets, a bronze awl or pin, a whetstone, a slate spindle whorl and a pygmy or incense cup. There were also one or two stones like stone axes in form in or near the urn. The pots were elaborately decorated with cord patterns. There was charcoal in the bottom of the urn cavity. There was no definite evidence for a cairn. |
