2500bc-14/1300bc | A circular flint cairn covering a heavily ploughed central structure, the remains of which comprise an oval platform of flints oriented NE and a probable cover stone. There was an internal ring of 7 post holes 3.6m in diameter, and an eighth off-centre post hole. There were 5 eccentric pits all containing wood carbon, 2 with apparently displaced coverstones. A fire pit 1m x 0.95m was to the north, just outside the post ring and just beyond the cairn ring: it contained some wood carbon. |
