2500bc-14/1300bc | A round barrow, the cairn enclosed by a dry stone wall kerb and extra-revetment. A number of large slabs under the mound at the centre covered an oval burial pit 0.9m x 0.5m x 20cm deep. This contained dark charcoal earth and a cremated adult (probably) male, buried without grave goods. A probable secondary burial at the north edge of the extra-revetment was represented by fragments of a small collared Early/Middle Bronze Age urn. To the east of the barrow an annex had been built which contained an oval burial pit with an adult cremation with no associations. |
