3500bc - 2500bc | A trapezoidal long cairn oriented NNE with dummy portal. No sign of burning, bones or pottery was in the forecourt. A scatter of human skeletal material was under tilted slabs in the entrance passage and in the south compartment of Chamber I, sealed with red earth. These represented the remains of perhaps 4 individuals in groups. Chamber II was paved and contained 7 individuals in 7 piles, brought in from interment elsewhere. There were no articulated limbs, and no pottery. Some human bone fragments were found under a slab. In the south transecting gallery was a deposit of bones, hazlenuts, and a flint flake under a slab. |
